Weston & Rachelle - Cheam Wetlands Wedding Photographer

A beautiful Maylong wedding up in Chilliwack!

What a beautiful wedding day this was!! Some of my favourite things include:

  • Rachelle doing all of her own hair and makeup - she looked INCREDIBLE, I was in awe! I could never have done my own hair and makeup on my own wedding day - this girl is talenteeed.

  • The champagne pop with Rachelle and her bridesmaids

  • The little gift Laura got Rachelle - a little bridal survival package!

  • The adorable barn they got married in & had their reception in

  • A polaroid guestbook

  • The mountain views at Cheam Wetlands - what a dream location!!

  • The hilarious speeches at the reception; I especially loved the little tupperware gift from Weston’s mom to Rachelle during their parent speech

  • The little mushrooms - on the reception tables and on Weston!

  • An amazing greek food buffet! I’ve never been to a wedding before that had greek food for dinner, and it was really awesome.

  • Also the dessert was amaaaaazing; I have a thing for pastries and donuts (I think being pregnant has made me love food more than ever before lol)

I love every single wedding day I get to be a part of, and this day was no exception. Thanks for having me along, Weston & Rachelle!

Jason & Alanna - Deroche Wedding

Sharing our wedding photos on our first anniversary seems like the perfect time!

It’s our first anniversary today! I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since this incredible day!

We seriously had the most wonderful, happiest day, and I know virtually every bride says that, but it’s the truth. The whole day could not have gone better. It was perfect weather, everyone was healthy, there weren’t any major hiccups (there’s always a few little ones - what’s a wedding day without those ;) ) and I just honestly felt so incredibly happy all day long.

Jay got ready at his basement suite with the groomsmen, and I got ready at my grandparents home with my bridesmaids. After getting ready, Jay and I had our first look at Stave Lake Boat Launch! It was super windy but warm. Jay was waiting very patiently at the end of the dock and had to wait a while for me - there was a poor boater who lost his keys in the water and was diving in and out looking for them, calling out to me that he was very sorry for holding up our wedding! It was really funny, and thankfully he found the keys in not too long of a time and I was able to meet Jay at the end of the dock!

We met up with our bridal party at Deroche and did photos there before the ceremony! The ceremony took place in one of my favourite places at Stepping Stones, and even though our “aisle” was a sloped grassy hill no one tripped and everything worked out haha. Our ceremony was bright and intimate, but to be totally honest with you, I don’t remember much about it - it flew by so quickly! (sorry Iwan - although I do remember the football and Taylor Swift references you threw in your sermon for us, so I do remember some things!)

We went right from ceremony to family pictures to reception. I was so happy with how the tent turned out and the whole feel of the evening! It was relaxed and funny and the food was amazing.

I am also just so totally thrilled with how the pictures turned out. Candice was incredible to work with and did an amazing job with documenting the start of our marriage! Sorry if it’s an overload of images - it’s so hard to choose just a few when your photographer takes hundreds of pictures you love.

Congratulations if you made it all the way to the end of the blog ;) it was so hard to narrow down what to share! Also a huge thank you to all of our amazing vendors who worked so hard to make our day as wonderful as it was:

Alex & Jamie - Abbotsford Wedding Photographer

Jamie & Alex’s beautiful spring wedding had lots of amazing moments including some cute little animals and a vintage car!

Alex and Jamie are hands down one of the most relaxed couples I’ve had the privilege of working with! Here are a couple of things I loved about their wedding day:

  • Jamie’s dress! I mean, it had pockets (!!! automatically makes every dress a little bit more awesome)

  • Jamie getting ready at her childhood home with her mom & sisters

  • The fact that it was supposed to rain all day and did not rain one drop

  • The amazing property where we did portraits (Thank you again, Saar Banks Farms!)

  • All the animals in the background of some of Jamie & Alex’s portraits

  • The vintage car Alex rented for the day

  • Polaroids being used as their guestbook (seriously. best idea!)

  • The amazing light we got at Cultus lake after the ceremony

  • The pizza they served for dinner at their reception (I love pizza so much)

The whole day was just incredible to get to be a part of. Thank you for trusting me to document your day, Mr. & Mrs. Moesker!

Josh & Katie - Deroche Winter Wedding

Josh and Katie’s winter wonderland wedding was the best way to kick-off the 2022 wedding season!

My first wedding of 2022 was Josh and Katie’s amazing winter wonderland wedding! There was lots of snow on the ground in Deroche which made for some really beautiful portraits. Josh and Katie were relaxed and the whole day was just full of laughter & adjusting on the fly; road conditions in the winter mean that everyone needs to be a bit flexible - yay for Katie planning lots of buffer time in her schedule so even though things ran late, we still had enough time for photos! I can’t stress this enough - add in extra time in your wedding timeline! This day really could not have gone better - I was so happy to get document this day for Josh & Katie, and pray for a long and happy marriage for the two of them!

Ronald & Janessa - Norrish Creek Engagement

Norrish Creek with the most beautiful sunshine and two of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting!

Janessa and Ronald suggested going to Norrish Creek for their engagement session, and I was a little nervous at first since I had never shot there before - but it went amazingly! The river was so beautiful and the sun came through the trees in the most pristine way and I pretty sure I said something along the lines of, “you guys have NO idea how good this looks!!!” probably around a hundred times. I’m so thankful to have met these two and I am excited to capture their wedding this year.

Curtis & Abigail - Old Clayburn Engagement

Old Clayburn village and the two happiest people.

I LOVE doing sessions in nature, but I also love getting to do sessions in a urban setting, being forced out of my comfort zone, thinking outside the box, and getting different results than what I normally do! That is exactly what I got with Abi and Curtis’ engagement session. I met Abi through work and I’ll forever be thankful to ACS for introducing us. Abi is such a bright, joyful, exuberant personality and it was such an honour to get to photograph her engagement to the love of her life. I can’t WAAAIIT for their wedding!

Weston & Rachelle - Campbell Valley Park Engagement

A really beautiful Campbell valley engagement session with two people who are just all in love with each other.

I have all the heart eyes for these two! I also really love their height difference - I think it makes for fun photos! Their personalities mesh so well together and it was so fun getting to know them as a couple. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this May! (fun fact - they are getting married on my anniversary! it’s bound to be an amazing day simply because it’s the best day to get married, imo ;) )
